Brooke
Brooke, 28, has been blind since childhood. She lives with her wonderful husband and two beautiful daughters in St. George, Utah. She graduated from Dixie State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English with a special emphasis in professional and technical writing. She is now thrilled to be a homeschooling stay-at-home mom.
Brooke can generally find or create ways to make any activities possible. Her favorite activities include reading, spending time at a family cabin in Pine Valley, singing, teaching our children’s Sunday School class, learning the stories of inspiring people in history, eating chocolate, and exploring the world with her daughters.
She is excited about how Hearsee Mobility will increase and streamline access to the places they explore together. She says, “I can see this system being invaluable in places like malls, hospitals and doctors’ offices, churches, zoos, universities, and museums. I would love to be able to take my girls to an art or history museum and spend all the time we want learning from and enjoying the exhibits without assistance!”
Brooke’s positive attitude is contagious. On blindness, she says, “If I could help everyone in the world really understand something about blindness, it would be this: Living my life with blindness does not make it worse. It makes it different, and different can be beautiful, joyful, and so, so good!”
