Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 2026 · Hearsee Mobility, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization

1. Who We Are

Hearsee Mobility (“Hearsee,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization building accessibility infrastructure and navigation technology for the blind and low-vision community. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through hearseemobility.org, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Information you give us directly. When you fill out a form on our site, such as to request a demo, join a pilot, contact us, share your story, volunteer, or donate, we collect what you enter, such as your name, email address, organization, phone number, and the content of your message.
  • Donation information. When you make a donation, payment is handled by our third-party donation processor. We receive your name, email address, and the amount and date of your gift; we do not receive or store your full card or bank details, which are handled entirely by the processor.
  • Newsletter sign-ups. If you subscribe to updates, your email address is stored with our email newsletter provider so we can send you communications you’ve asked for. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
  • Site usage information. We use Google Analytics, and participate in the Google Ad Grants program for nonprofits, to understand how visitors use our site and how to reach more people who could benefit from Hearsee. This may include your approximate location (city/region level, from IP address), device and browser type, pages visited, and how you arrived at our site. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
  • Cookies. Our site uses cookies and similar technologies, primarily through Google Analytics, to support the site usage information described above. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some site features may not work as intended if you do.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to respond to your inquiries, process donations and send tax-deductible receipts, send newsletter updates you’ve opted into, coordinate demos, pilots, and volunteer or partnership interest, improve our website and outreach, and comply with legal and financial recordkeeping obligations as a nonprofit.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Who We Share Information With

We share information only with the service providers that help us operate, including our website host, our donation processor, and our email newsletter provider. Each is contractually limited to using your information to provide that service to us. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Hearsee, our users, or the public.

5. Children's Privacy

Our website is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at info@hearseemobility.org and we will remove it.

6. Data Retention & Security

We retain the information described above for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by law (including standard nonprofit financial recordkeeping for donations). We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

7. Your Choices & Rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time. To make a request, contact us at info@hearseemobility.org. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act; we will honor applicable requests consistent with those laws.

Our site may link to third-party websites, including social media platforms and partner organizations. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their own policies.
