Do You See What I See?
The holidays aren’t just about what you see. For many blind and low-vision people, the season comes alive through sound, touch, smell, taste, and connection.
What is
Do You See What I See?
“Do You See What I See?” is a holiday storytelling series featuring blind and low-vision voices describing the season beyond sight.
We will be sharing selected videos across Hearsee Mobility’s social media channels to highlight:
- The sounds, smells, textures, and tastes of the holidays
- How blind and low-vision people experience traditions
- What inclusion feels like during this time of year
Who can participate?
You do not need professional gear. If you have a phone and something to say about the holidays, you are qualified.
We would love to hear from:
- Blind and low-vision individuals of any age.
- If you have recently lost your sight or have been blind for years.
- From any culture, tradition, or background.
What to share in your video
Keep it simple and personal. In your video, you can answer one or more of these questions:
- What do the holidays sound like to you? (music, family, chatter, quiet moments, city noise, etc.)
- What smells or tastes mean “holiday” to you? (spices, baking, cold air, candles, etc.)
- What do you feel or touch that makes the season real? (textures, objects, traditions, movement, etc.)
- Is there a holiday moment that feels especially inclusive – or not? Why?
You do not have to be on camera if you do not want to be. You can film your surroundings, a still shot, or anything that fits your story.
